Arbor Restoration Plan for Garden City

The Arbor Restoration Plan for Garden City has been compiled a team of graduate students from Cornell University Department of Landscape Architecture with the approval of the Chairperson of the Urban Horticulture Institute at Cornell University, Department of Horticulture. Recommendations include tree selection guides as a basis to find the right tree species and cultivar for the right size planting spaces. Special patented structural soils will be included in all planting specifications when obtained from sole source distributors. Questions pertaining to this report can be directed to the Village Department of Recreation and Parks who oversees the village tree inventory and the overall tree planting and maintenance plan.
To view the complete report please click here.

Village Markers Section

To call attention to the extensive history of Garden City, the Village has installed Historic Markers at various locations and is in the process of adding more.  As part of the project, a Markers page has been established to provide more information on the subjects and links to other data sources.  The markers will all be provided with QR (Quick Response) codes to allow those interested to access the Markers page directly by photographing the code with a Smartphone app. The Markers page can also be accessed now by visiting our Village Markers page.

The Department of Recreation and Parks have been busy planning a variety of activities for our residents to enjoy during the upcoming months.  We hope you will join in with the many other residents of Garden City who take part in the programs and activities we provide.  We realize the amount of options to choose from, we worked extra hard to make our programs worthy of both your time and participation.
